A prominent new addition to Bangkok’s skyline, this residential tower harmonizes traditional and contemporary design to provide a singular experience of luxury.

SOM与本地和国际设计公司团队合作，领衔设计了ESSE素坤逸36号项目——曼谷一座豪华住宅塔楼，为城市带来独特而富有力量的建筑。该项目位于通罗，是曼谷最受欢迎的区之一，塔楼包含338个住宅单元和一系列设施，包括健身房、无边泳池、屋顶花园和景观户外露台。住户抵达时，会经过一系列优雅的大堂、图书馆，以及绿意盎然的私密花园。这些设计旨在为住户提供远离城市喧嚣的静谧庇护所。

Working with a team of local and international design firms, SOM led the design of THE ESSE Sukhumvit 36, a luxury residential tower that brings a distinct and powerful architectural vision to Bangkok. Located in Thong Lo, one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the building comprises 338 residential units and a range of amenities including a gym, infinity pool, rooftop gardens, and landscaped outdoor terraces. Upon arrival, residents are welcomed by a series of elegant lobbies, a library lounge, and lushly planted, intimate gardens designed to provide refuge from the bustle of the city.

融合传统与现代设计

Blending traditional and contemporary design

建筑的外立面设计灵感来源于泰国传统建筑陡峭的屋顶， 实现了古老的建筑原则与现代材料之间的和谐统一。外立面采用典型的幕墙结构，混凝土板上方为落地玻璃。弯曲的窗间墙由涂黑的铝板制成，垂直的青铜色竖框创造了一种编织纹理，暗示了传统泰国建筑的曲线美，为城市天际线增添了一道引人注目的视觉亮点。

The building’s facade is inspired by the steep curved geometry of the traditional Thai roof, creating a harmony between time-honored architectural principles and contemporary materials. The facade is a typical curtain wall enclosure, with floor to ceiling glass above a concrete slab. Curved spandrels, made of painted-black aluminum plates, and vertical bronze-colored mullions create a woven texture that suggests the curvature of traditional Thai architecture. The result is a visually compelling addition to the city’s skyline.

塔楼设有三个相互堆叠的细长体块。上升的几何形态与布局合理的楼层平面优先考虑了视野，并清晰地表达了建筑的功能分区。裙楼从地面抬升，为住户营造出一个自然通风的配套设施。由于场地空间有限，裙楼内配备了一套最先进的自动化停车系统。

The tower is conceived as three slender masses that stack against one another. The ascending geometry and well-organized floor plates prioritize views and clearly express the building’s program. The podium is lifted from the ground plane to create a naturally ventilated arrival sequence for the residents. Due to limited space on the site, the podium accommodates a state-of-the-art automated parking system.

应对气候的设计

Responding to climate

曼谷的强烈热带气候对高层建筑设计有着特殊的要求。建筑被抬高，以允许微风在地面层流通。入口处的一系列遮荫空间结合了水景和茂密的绿植，进一步提升抵达体验。设计通过调整建筑朝向以利用盛行风实现自然通风，以及其他策略，将泰国传统建筑中的被动式设计技巧融入到一个定义当代奢华生活的项目中。

The intense tropical climate of Bangkok requires a different approach from high-rise buildings designed for more temperate climates. The building is elevated to allow breezes to flow through the site at ground level. A series of shaded spaces at the entry incorporates water features and dense greenery to further cool the main arrival experience. By orienting the building to take advantage of prevailing winds for natural ventilation, among other strategies, the design incorporates passive building techniques found in Thailand’s traditional architecture into a project that defines contemporary luxury living.
