This international competition-winning design for ByteDance’s Houhai Center in Shenzhen, China provides the multinational technology company with a flexible, unique, dynamic work environment within a building of exemplary environmental performance.

这座总建筑面积达62,600平方米的大楼位于深圳南区——该区域聚集了众多科技企业。大楼内将设有用于联合办公、休闲娱乐、餐饮和讲座的多样化空间，底层还设有零售区域。项目地块位于后海商业区主要绿带的交汇处，可俯瞰附近的深圳湾。

Located in the southern district of Shenzhen, where many of the city’s tech companies are based, the 62,600 gross square meter tower will include varied spaces for coworking, recreation, dining, and lectures, as well as retail on the lower level. The site is situated at the intersection of the main greenbelt of the Houhai commercial area with views to nearby Shenzhen Bay.

Today’s tenant amenities are business drivers. Flexible environments, interactive tech, and curated programming help companies attract talent, build culture, and stay productive. Pop-ups, meeting zones, and lecture spaces aren’t perks—they’re tools for performance. In this model, the workplace and its culture are visible on the façade itself. It signals a building designed for collaboration, community, and the next generation of employees.

该设计以视觉与功能上的联结为核心，通过立面展现内部空间的动态。上层均匀分布的遮阳板传递出办公环境的节奏感与焦点，而棱角分明的阶梯式几何形态则界定了社交与协作区域——开阔视野，营造通透感，并强化了室内外空间的联系。

The design centers on visual and programmatic connections, using the façade to express what’s happening inside. Evenly spaced sunscreens across the upper levels convey the rhythm and focus of the workplace environment, while the angular, stepped geometry marks community and collaboration zones—opening views, creating moments of transparency, and strengthening the relationship between interior and exterior spaces.

高性能建筑围护结构搭配深层遮阳系统，引入柔和漫射的自然光，减少眩光，在支持被动节能的同时，让使用者始终与户外保持联结。室外露台通过计算流体动力学分析进行优化设计，旨在打造四季皆宜、无论风向如何都能确保安全舒适的空间。

A high-performance envelope with deep solar shading brings in soft, diffused daylight, reduces glare, and supports passive energy savings while keeping occupants connected to the outdoors. Outdoor terraces are shaped through computational fluid dynamics analysis to create safe, comfortable spaces across seasons and wind conditions.

新中心致力于打造一个健康、舒适且灵活的工作环境，最大限度地增加建筑内的自然通风，提供屋顶花园和绿意盎然的露台，并通过通透的设计和开阔的视野，促进与周边社区的深度互动。

The new center prioritizes a healthy, comfortable, and flexible work environment which maximizes fresh air throughout the building, offers access to roof gardens and lush terraces, and via transparency and views invites greater engagement with the surrounding community.

这栋建筑不仅拥有常规的配套设施层，更成为助力大楼使用者成功的平台。配套设施并非可有可无的附加品，它们是团队协作、人才招募和创新创造的环境组成部分。通道、露台和共享空间融入建筑核心，将街道生活向上延伸，使这座塔楼化身为一个垂直社区。由此营造出的空间，是人们相聚、工作和交流思想的场所，而不仅仅是匆匆路过的通道。

Beyond the typical amenity floor, the building becomes a platform for tenant success. Amenities aren’t add-ons—they’re part of the environment where teams collaborate, recruit, and innovate. Circulation, terraces, and shared spaces are integrated into the core of the building, extending street life upward and turning the tower into a vertical neighborhood. This creates places where people meet, work, and exchange ideas—not just pass through.
