In the spring of 2024, the mirrored complex Harakado opened at the Jingumae intersection in Tokyo. Its façade, designed by architect Akihisa Hirata, is a striking structure made of glass polyhedrons. A mix of flat and concave elements creates a sense of movement and interaction with the city. This concept, called "KNIT DESIGN", envisions the façade not as a static sculpture but as a dynamic element that weaves the city’s atmosphere into its design.

2024年春天，镜面建筑群“原宿”在东京神宫前路口盛大开业。其由建筑师平田彰久设计的立面，由玻璃多面体构成，造型醒目，令人叹为观止。平面与凹面元素的巧妙融合，营造出一种动感，并与城市互动。这一名为“编织设计”的概念，旨在将立面设计而非静态雕塑，而是动态元素，将城市氛围融入其中。

Harakado is located in Harajuku, a district famous as a hub of youth culture, art, and fashion experimentation. The site itself has a creative legacy — it was once home to the Harajuku Central Apartments, which attracted artists and innovators. The new building carries on this tradition, providing a space for cultural exchange and creative expression.

原宿广场位于原宿，这里以青年文化、艺术和时尚实验而闻名。场地本身也蕴含着丰富的创意遗产——这里曾是吸引艺术家和创新者的原宿中央公寓所在地。这座新建筑延续了这一传统，为文化交流和创意表达提供了一个空间。

The name "Harakado" is a combination of Harajuku and Kado, with "Kado" being a play on three Japanese kanji: 角 (corner), 才 (talent), and 門 (gate), all pronounced the same way. This name reflects the idea that at this vibrant corner of Harajuku, talent and creativity come together, and the space itself serves as a gateway to Harajuku’s cultural world. Beyond retail stores, Harakado offers a unique selection of non-commercial spaces, including a creative market, exhibition areas, and even public baths — making it a place for both commerce and cultural experiences.
