Pinnacle One Yonge is rising on Toronto’s waterfront where the longest street in North America meets Lake Ontario. This multi-phase development will transform the city skyline and elevate the urban mix of residential, commercial, and retail space to new heights. SkyTower will top out at 106 floors (1,154 ft/351.85m) later this year and become the tallest building in Canada.

This two-city-block precinct is envisioned as a complete community grounded by a plan that accentuates the pedestrian realm to enhance the urban streetscape. With both north-south and east-west mid-block connections, there is a fluid porosity to the scheme that activates this new neighbourhood to both residents and visitors alike. Pinnacle One Yonge will have retail and service amenities and a Le Meridien Hotel in its podium and create a gateway between the nearby major transportation hub at Union Station in the central business district and Toronto’s rapidly renewing waterfront.

The first phase of the project is complete. The 65-storey (708 ft/216m) tower, The Prestige, is now occupied. It features the first city-run community recreation centre in a private development that is open to everyone, setting a precedent for integrating public recreation facilities within private residential spaces. An adjacent public park will enrich this relationship further and distinguish Pinnacle One Yonge’s connection with the city.

SkyTower, phase two project that is currently under construction, will house over 950 residential units complemented by a full set of amenities at grade, in the podium and terraces. To make an architectural statement, the tower features a sleek, glazed exterior and a tapered form.

Prominent vertical fins emphasize the tower’s height and verticality with buttressed balconies that seamlessly merge the tower with the podium, and wide, expansive curved corner glazing fosters a connection between the interior program and the surrounding community. At the ground level, a continuous glass canopy will wrap around the podium, creating a more intimate scale while providing weather protection.

Phase three will see the addition of a 92-storey tower to the Toronto skyline. This tower is set to include over 850 residential suites, along with affordable housing. The carved form of the tower is architecturally dynamic.
