Grand Green Osaka is the second phase of the Umekita Project, a city development project underway in front of Osaka Station. The South Tower, designed by our company, features a skyline in which the building height gradually decreases towards Umekita Park, creating an enclosed urban landscape that harmonizes with the scale of the city center.
The large-scale architectural volume, which houses a variety of functions including commercial facilities, a hotel, and offices, is divided into four buildings by a "valley" that runs through the center. Each volume is arranged at an angle to form a group, allowing for approaches from multiple directions. The valley draws in greenery and pedestrian traffic from the park, and is a public space that connects large and small "ma" spaces. Furthermore, a three-dimensional pedestrian network has been constructed linking the terraces, bridges between the buildings, and the underground plaza, creating a "regional hub" that connects the town and the park.

A "valley" runs through the center of the south building, and a bridge is installed to connect the four buildings that are segmented above ground. The area will draw in people from Umekita Park and create a place for people to gather by placing street furniture such as benches and plants. View from the hot spring facility (Umekita Onsen Ren Wellbeing Park) on the third floor. On the right is the Grand Front Osaka (designed by our company and others), the first phase of the Umekita Project.
